R Aswhin created two world records – one individually and another with RA Jadeja. His individual record will be thus –He took three wickets in the second innings of Dharamsala test to take his tally of wickets to 82 in this season of 2016-17. He became the first bowler ever in the history of test cricket to capture 80 plus wickets in a test season. At the end of the first innings of the ongoing test at Dharamsala, his aggregate of wickets in 2016-17 read 79

Another record he has created with RA Jadeja reads thus – RA Jadeja had captured 68 wickets as at the end of the first innings of the ongoing test at Dharamsala. He needed two more wickets for his 70 wickets. He took three wickets in the second  innings to take his tally of wickets to 71 in 2016-17 season and  paired with R Ashwin to become the first pair of bowlers in the annals of test cricket to capture seventy plus wickets in the same test season – a feat never achieved before. R Ashwin had captured 82 wickets as at the end of Australia’s  second innings of the ongoing test at Dharamsala
