RR Pant joins the select band of glove men who have effected seven or more dismissals on test debut

RR Pant of India took seven catches at the end of the fourth day in the ongoing test against England at Nottingham to become the seventh wicket keeper to effect seven or more dismissals in a test on test debut. All such occasions are tabulated below

RR Pant if he effects one more dismissal on the final day of the test – England has one  wicket left – he would emulate HB Taber of Australia  and CMW Read of England who have effected eight dismissals on test debut to beome the third glove man to achieve the feat.

RR Pant became  the first Indian wicket keeper to effect seven dismissals on test debut. NS Tamhane, KS More, NR Mongia and NV Ojha have effected five  dismissals on test debut. The following table lists the performance of these five wicket keepers
