 JE Root of England was dismissed for a score of 13 – a number considered as an inauspicious number in cricketing circles in all the countries except Australia – in the fourth innings of the just concluded test against India to provide the 44th occasion of England captain scoring 13 runs in an innings. All such occasions are tabulated below. It also provides the 144th occasion of a captain scoring 13 runs  in an innings in the annals of test cricket
