Deccan Herald and its cricket statistician

Deccan Herald, leading English Newspaper in Karnataka is using Sri Arun Gopalakrishnan as its Statistician for providing statistical tit-bits on cricket matches.

A Couple of days back, one of my friends, telephoned me whether it was your son who has provided the stats for Deccan Herald. The stats provided by Sri Arun Gopalakrishnan contained some errors, it appears.

I wish to make it clear through my portal that my sons – Aravind and Anand – are not cricket statisticians.

I also reiterate that Sri Arun Gopalakrishnan and myself are not relatives. He is a Tamilian and  I am a Kannadiga.

It is a known fact that Tamilians and Keralites add the ‘n’ to their names – such as Ramachandran, Koteeswaran, Narayanan, Ananthapadmanabhan, etc.,

I requested Sri Madhu Jawali, Senior Correspondent of Deccan Herald to use the byline – Arun Gopalakrishnan {not related to HR Gopala Krishna} whenever the newspaper uses the stats furnished by Arun Gopalakrishnan.  But he refused to use such byline. Hence this  piece of  information through my portal
