Couple of records for RV Uthappa in Vijay Hazare Trophy

RV Uthappa scored 100 representing Kerala against Railways at Bengaluru on 24.02.21. This knock represents his eleventh century in Vijay Hazare Trophy.  He now owns the record with for most centuries in Vijay Hazare Trophy. He went past Yashpal Singh who has scored ten centuries in the tournament. RV Uthappa scored nine centuries for Karnataka and two for Kerala. Yashpal Singh scored four centuries for services, three for Tripura and three for Manipur. Centuries scored by these two batsmen are tabulated below.

RV Uthappa represented three states in the tournament – Karnataka,  Saurashtra and Kerala. Yashpal Singh represented four states/Teams – Services, Sikkim, Tripura and Manipur

RV Uthappa shares the record for most number of appearances in the tournament with MK Tiwary. The game against Railways on 24.02.21 was the 77th game for him in the tournament. MK Tiwary of Bengal has also played 77 games in the tournament

RV Uthappa wrote himself into record books with another feat of completing 3000 runs in the tournament. He reached the landmark when he was on 74 during his knock of 100 in the game against Railways at Bengaluru on 24.02.21. His runs aggregate at the end of this game read 3026. He became the fourth batsman in the tournament to score 3000 plus runs. Others are – Yahspal Singh {3193}, A Mukund {3048} and MK Tiwari {3007}.
