Match No 11 : Mangalore United vs Shamanoor Davanagere Diamonds at Bangalore on 20.09.10 : Shamanoor Davanagere Diamonds won by three wickets

Skipper SB Joshi’s all round effort – 3 for 22 with the leather and 25 runs with the willow enabled Shamanoor Davanagere Diamonds to register a comfortable three wickets win over Mangalore United.

Opting to bat first, Mangalore United posted 119 for 8 in its 20.0 overs. It lost its openers and the score board read a dismal 9 for 2. It lost wickets at regular intervals. Nidhuvan Kumara and R Jonathan added 27 runs for the third wicket and R Jonathan and Skipper RK Sabharwal added 31 runs for the fourth wicket. Apart from these two stands they were no match redeeming stands. .

R Jonathan top scored the innings with a well compiled 39 runs. He was at the crease for 73 minutes and faced 45 deliveries. He hit three boundaries. Skipper YK Sabharwal scored 21 runs which came in 21 balls. He hit a four and a six and was at the crease for 25 minutes

SB Joshi {3 for 22}, BN Bharat {1 for 18}, P Magishendan {1 for 12}, DC Rajesh {1 for 13} and SN Raju {1 for 23} shared the seven of the eight wickets that fell in Mangalore’ innings. One batsman was run out.

Shamanoor Davangere Diamonds in their chase were tottering at 77 for 6 but a 40 run partnership for the seventh wicket between BN Bharat and SB Joshi saw them home. In the early part of the innings, it lost two wickets – CM Gautham and YKT Goud – with the score board reading 23 for 2. MA Agarwal and SN Raju propped up the innings with 36 runs partnership for the third wicket.

MA Agarwal {36}, SN Raju {23}, BN Bharat {15*} and SB Joshi {25} contributed to Davanagere Team’s total. MA Agarwal’s 36 came of 30 balls with 1 four and three sixes. SN Raju’s 23 came of 32 balls with 2 fours and one six. BN Bharat who occupied the crease at one end was at the crease for 49 minutes and faced 19 balls while scoring sedate 15 not out which contained one boundary. SB Joshi’s cameo 25 came of 15 balls with four fours. He was the crease for 22 minutes

S Aravind {1 for 19}, Aleem {2 for 14}, D Sequeria {1 for 21} and AF Pasha {2 for 13} captured the six of the seven wickets that fell in Davangere’s innings. One batsman was run out
