It is interesting to note in all these three three figure partnerships posted by Pakistan batsmen for the fourth wicket, Shoaib Malik is one of the partners.

Shoaib Malik and Umar Akmal scored 63 not out and 50 not out respectively in this game to provide the 52^nd and 53^rd occasion of Pakistan batsmen scoring fifties in T20Is. It also represnents the 83^rd occasion of two batsmen scoring fifties in an innings in the history of T20Is and the ninth such occasion by Pakistan batsman. It also provides the third occasion of batsmen batting at number four and five scoring fifties in an innings of T20I. Of these three occasions, Pakistan has accomplished the feat on two occasions. Apart from this game, Younis Khan {51 at No 4} and Shoaib Malik {51 at No.5} had scored fifties against Sri Lanka at Johannesburg on 17.09.07

Pakistan is the fifth team to post fifty plus fifties in the history of T20Is. The fifties by Shoib Malik and Umar Akmal gave Pakistan a total of 53 fifties. Others are Australia {57}, New Zealand {55}, England {53} and South Africa {50}. Pakistan and England share the third place for most fifties by a team in the history of T20Is. Both the teams have posted 53 fifties. India is close behind with 47 fifties.

Pakistan is one of the four teams to post 50 plus half centuries in the history of T20Is. The half centuries by Shoib Malik and Umar Akmal gave Pakistan a total of 52 half centuries. Others are – Australia {55}, New Zealand {52} and England {52}. Thus Pakistan, New Zealand and England share the second place among the teams which have scored most half centuries in the history of T20Is.

Umar Akmal’s run aggregate in T20I read 1559 at the end of this game. He now owns the Pakistan record for most runs in T20Is. He went past Mohammad Hafeez’s tally of 1529 when he was on 30 during his knock of 50 not out in this game. Umar Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez are the only two Pakistan batsmen to total 1500 runs in T20Is. As many as six batsmen have scored 1500 runs in the history of T20Is which include Umar Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez. Others are – BB McCullum {2140}, MJ Guptill {1666}, TM Dilshan {1658} and JP Duminy {1551}

Shoaib Malik’s 63 not out in this game represents his fifth fifty, while Umar Akmal’s 50 not out represents his eighth fifty. Umar Akmal now owns the record fr most fifties by a Pakistan batsman jointly with Mohammad Hafeez. Both the batsmen have scored eight fifties.

Pakistan had lost three wickets for 17 runs in this game to provide the eighth occasion of Pakistan losing three wickets for 17 and less than 17 runs in a T20I. The fourth wicket produced a three figure partnership in this game to provide the second occasion of Pakistan posting a three figure partnership for the fourth wicket after it had lost its three wickets for 17 and less than 17 runs. The first such occasion was against India at Bangalore on 25.12.12. After losing three wickets for 12 runs, Mohammad Hafeez and Shoiab Malik added 106 runs for the fourth wicket.
