Arjun Hoysala and Rajoo Bhatkal added 118 runs for the first wicket in this game to provide the 20th occasion of batsmen posting a three figure partnership in KPL. It also provides the eleventh occasion of batsmen posting a three figure partnership for the first wicket.

Arjun Hoysala and Rajoo Bhatkal added 118 plus runs for the first wicket in this game to provide the fourth occasion of Mysore Warriors batsmen posting a three figure partnership in KPL. It also provides the second occasion of Mysore Warriors batsmen posting a three figure partnership for the first wicket. The other three figure stands posted by Mysore Warriors batsmen are – 131 runs unfinished partnership for the second wicket between SA Bhavane and MVM Reddy against Bellary Tuskers at Bangalore on 09.09.14, 111 runs partnership for the fifth wicket between Amit Verma and BN Bharath against Mangalore at Hubli on 09.09.14 and 110 runs partnership for the first wicket between AA Hoysala and CM Gautham against Rockstars at Mysore on 17.09.15

Thus the 118 runs partnership for the first wicket between Arjun Hoysala and Rajoo Bhatkal in this game represents the highest first wicket partnership by Mysore Warriors batsmen in KPL.

Rajeev’s 51 in this game provide the second occasion of a Rockstars batsman scoring a fifty in KPL. The other occasion was also by Rajeev himself when he had made 52 against Namma Shivamogga at Hubli on 08.09.15

Rajeev’s 51 in this game was in a losing cause to provide the fourth occasion of a batsman’s fifty going in vain in KPL 2016. The four  occasions are SH Kirmani’s 61 in the first game, CM Gautham’s 64 in the second game and R Samarth’s 64 in the third game and now Rajeev’s 51 in the fourth game. It is interesting to note that all the four batsmen have opened the innings for their respective teams.

Rajeev’s 51 in this game was in a losing cause to provide the 37th occasion of a batsman’s fifty going in vain in KPL. It also provides the 25th occasion of an opening batsman’s fifty in a losing cause in IPL.

Mysore Warriors won the game by 111 runs to provide the second occasion of a team winning a KPL game by 100 plus runs margin. The other occasion was Hubli Tigers’ 136 run victory against Rockstars at Hubli on 10.09.14. Thus Rockstars earned the  dubious distinction of  becoming the only team in KPL to lose two games by 100 plus runs margin

J Suchith captured 3 for 27 in this game to take his total tally of wickets in KPL to 31. He became the fourth bowler to capture 30 plus wickets in KPL. Others are – K Gowtham {37}, R Vinay Kumar {33} and NC Aiyappa {31}

Match report – KPL 2016-M-04-Mysuru Warriors Vs Rockstars at Hubli on 18.09.16 – Mysore Warriors won by 111 runs

Put into bat, Mysore Warriors made a mincemeat of Rockstar’s bowling attack to post its highest team total of 219 for 4. The innings was built around a fluent 89 not out by the left hand opener Arjun Hoysala. He was concerned in a first wicket partnership of 118 runs with Rajoo Bhatkal and a second wicket partnership of 61 runs with K Gowtham.

Mysore Warrior’s 219 for 4 provides the sixth occasion of a team posting 200 plus runs in KPL. It also represents the second highest team total in KPL. The highest team total is 245 for 6 by Hubli Tigers against Rockstars at Hubli on 10.09.14

AA Hoysala’s 89 not out represents not only his highest individual innings in KPL but also represent the highest individual innings by a Mysore Warriors batsman in KPL.

Barring Rajeev {51} and Pradeep Bogadi {20} none of the other batsman reached double figures in Rockstar’s innings. J Suchith was the most successful bowler with a bag of 3 for 27.

Mysore Warriors won the game by 111 runs to provide the second occasion of a team winning a KPL game by 100 plus runs margin. The other occasion was Hubli Tigers’ 136 run victory against Rockstars at Hubli on 10.09.14. Thus Rockstars earned a dubious distinction of becoming the only team in KPL to lose two games by 100 plus runs margin

It is interesting to note that in the first three matches of KPL 2016 played on 17.09.16, opening batsmen in the three matches witnessed their fifties going in vain. In the first game, it was SH Kirmani, in the second game it was CM Gautham and in the third game it was R Samarth. Match report – KPL 2016-M-02-Mangalore United vs Mysuru Warriors at Hubli on 17.09.16 – Mysore Warriors won by seven wickets

Winning the toss, opting to bat first. Mangalore United lost its first two wickets with 11 runs on the board. Opener M Nishit was run out carelessly and SA Bhavane was dismissed without scoring. Third wicket fell at 33 as Rohit Gowda left without scoring. It was left to captain wicket keeper CM Gautham and M Nidesh to prop the innings by adding 89 runs for the fourth wicket

CM Gautham scored 64 – his highest score in KPL which was also his second fifty, while M Nidesh notched his fourth fifty of the tournament to become the 12th batsman to score four of more fifties in KPL.

 

Mangalore United posted a total of 148 for 7 in its 20 overs. After the exit of M Nidesh, the team lost direction and skipper CM Gautham stood as mute spectator as wickets fell around him. CM Gautham almost batted through the twenty overs. He was dismissed for 64 of the penultimate delivery of the innings. From 122 for 3, Mangalore United finished with a total of 148 for 7 – losing four wickets for 26 runs.

Mysore Warriors found the target very easy. Its openers – A Arjun Hoysala and R Bhatkal were concerned in an opening stand of 73 runs. R Bhatkal scored 48 runs. One drop batsman K Gowtham scored a 20 ball 36 which contained four huge boundary sixes. His knock hastened Mysore Warriors chase. He added 44 runs in 4.1 overs in the company of R Jonathan.

The first match of the KPL 2016 was between these two teams. Hubli Tigers won the toss and inserted the opposition. Namma Shivamogga openers SH Kirmani and Nikin Jose added 89 runs for the first wicket. The first wicket fell in the 13th over. SH Kirmani almost carried the bat through the twenty overs scoring 69.
