Records for MS Dhoni ahead of T20I between South Africa and India at Cape Town

MS Dhoni has effected 205 dismissals in T20 games became the second wicketkeeper to effect 200 plus dismissals in the history of T20 Internationals.  Kamran Akmal is the other wicket keeper to effect 200 plus dismissals.  He has effected 208 dismissals. MS Dhoni requires four more dismissals to own the record for most dismissals by a wicketkeeper in the history of T20 games. Three more dismissals for him would put him  on par with Kamran Akmal 

Prior to the start of the today’s game, i.e., South Africa and India T20I game at Cape Town, MS Dhoni and KC Sangakkara share the record for most catches in T20 games. Both the wicketkeepers have an aggregate of 135 catches. MS Dhoni needs one more catch to go past KC Sangakkara and own the record for most catches in T20 games.

Prior to the start of the today’s game, i.e., South Africa and India T20I game at Cape Town, MS Dhoni has pouched 49 catches in T20Is. He requires one more catch which would fetch him 50 catches and with it the record of becoming the first wicketkeeper in the history of T20Is to pouch 50 catches.

Prior to the start of the today’s game, i.e., South Africa and India T20I game at Cape Town, MS Dhoni has effected 79 dismissals in T20Is. He requires two more dismissals which would fetch him 80 dismissals and with it the record of becoming the first wicket keeper in the history of T20Is to effect 80 dismissals.

He requires one more stumping dismissal which would fetch him 30 stumping dismissals and with it the record of becoming the second wicketkeeper in the history of T20Is to effect 30 plus stumping dismissals after Kamran Akmal. MS Dhoni scored four boundary fours in his knock of 52 not out against South Africa at Centurion on 21.02.18 which fetched him an aggregate of 100 boundary fours in T20Is. He became the 36th batsman to aggregate 100 plus boundary fours in the history of Twenty20 Internationals. He also became the fifth Indian batsman to score 100 boundary fours in T20Is. Others are – V Kohli {210}, RG Sharma {152}, SK Raina {123} and G Gambhir {109}

JP Duminy of South Africa scored 64 not out against India at Centurion on 21.02.18 to provide the 103rd occasion of a captain scoring a fifty in the history of T20Is. It also provides the 99th occasion of a captain scoring a half century in the history of T20Is. It also provides the 55th occasion of a team winning a T20I when its captain has scored a fifty and also provides the 53rd occasion of a team winning a T20I when its captain has scored a half century.
