Statistical highlights in IPL and Twenty20 games

At the end of the IPL game between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders at Mumbai on 28.04.16, the following stats highlights were observed in IPL and also in Twenty20 games

G Gambhir, RG Sharma and DA Warner share the record for most fifties in IPL. All the three batsmen have scored 29 fifties.  G Gambhir and RG Sharma scored their 29th fifty in the match under consideration.

G Gambhir became the first batsman to score 400 boundary fours in IPL. At the end of the game on 28.04.16, his boundary fours aggregate read 401.

RG Sharam became the seventh batsman to score 300 plus boundary fours in IPL. At the end of the game on 28.04.16, his boundary fours aggregate read 305. Others to accomplish the feat are – G Gambhir {401}, SK Raina {338}, V Sehwag {334}, RV Uthappa {317}, V Kohli {311} and S Dhawan {310}

KA Pollard’s run aggregate in Twenty20 games read 6009 at the end of the game on 28.04.16. He became the sixth batsman to total 6000 plus runs in Twenty20 games. Others are – CH Gayle {8840}, BJ Hodge {6998}, BB McCullum {6486}, DA Warner {6486} and SK Raina {6103

BB McCullum became the third batsman to score 300 boundary sixes in Twenty20 games. Others are – CH Gayle {637} and KA Pollard {398}.

BB McCullum became the second batsman in the history of Twenty20 games to score 600 plus boundary fours and 300 boundary sixes. He has scored 620 boundary fours and 300 boundary sixes. CH Gayle is the other batsman to accomplish such a feat. He has to his credit 684 boundary fours and 637 boundary sixes.

G Gambhir’s boundary fours aggregate in Twenty20 games at the end of the game on 28.04.16 read 601. He became the sixth batsman in the history of Twenty20 games to score 600 plus boundary fours. Others are CH Gayle {684}, BJ Hodge {681}, TM Dilshan {632}, DA Warner {625} and BB McCullum {620}.

RG Sharma’s boundary fours aggregate in Twenty20 games at the end of the game on 28.04.16 read 508. He became the 15th batsman in the history of Twenty20 games to score 500 plus boundary fours. Others are CH Gayle {684}, BJ Hodge {681}, TM Dilshan {632}, DA Warner {625} and BB McCullum {620}, G Gambhir {601}, LG Wright {597], V Kohli {554}, MJ Lumb {554}, DPMD Jayawardene {552}, SK Raina {533}, DR Smith {532}, KC Sangakkara {517} and RV Uthappa {503}

RG Sharma with his 44 fifties in Twenty20 games stands fourth in the list of batsmen who have scored most fifties in the history of Twenty20 games. CH Gayle {72}, DA Warner {54} and BJ Hodge {48} are the other three batsmen  to  score more fifties than RG Sharma in Twenty20 games

V Kohli scripts a new record in Twenty20 games for most runs on a single ground

Virat Kohli scripted a record aggregate for most runs on a single ground in Twenty20 games during his knock of 79 in the IPL game against Delhi Daredevils at Bangalore on 17.04.16. He had an aggregate of 1574 prior to the start of today’s game and at the end of today’s game his run aggregate 1653 at Bangalore. He went past CH Gayle who had scored 1578 runs at Bangalore which included his duck against Delhi Daredevils on 17.04.16 and also SR Patel who had the record aggregate of 1595 runs at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. SR Patel was the previous record holder for most runs on a single ground in Twenty20 games. V Kohli became the first batsman to score 1600 runs in  this category of stats

World record for most four plus wicket hauls in T20 games for SL Malinga

SL Malinga captured 4 for 26 against UAE at Mirpur on 25.02.16 in the ongoing Asia Cup T20 tournament. This four wicket haul represent his 12th four plus wicket haul in Twenty20 games. He now owns the record for most four plus wicket hauls in the history of Twenty20 games. He went past SP Narine who has to his credit 11 such hauls.

SL Malinga – on the threshold of capturing 300 wickets in Twenty20 games

SL Malinga captured four for 26 against UAE at Dhaka on 25.02.16 to take his  aggregate of wickets in Twenty20 to 299 . He requires one more wicket for his 300 wickets. If he gets it, he would then become the first bowler in the history of Twenty20 games to captured 300 wickets. His feat provides the 22nd occasions of a bowler capturing six or more wickets in the history of Twenty20 games.  He also became the 11th bowler {12th occasion} to capture six wickets conceding 16 or less than 16 runs in the history of Twenty20 games.
