V Kohli became the first batsman in the history of Twenty20 games to score 2000 runs at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore to own the record of scoring 2000 plus runs on the single ground in the history of Twenty20 games. He reached the milestone when he was on 71 during his knock of 113 in this game and his aggregate read 2042

His 113 in the game against Kings XI Punjab at Bangalore today was his fourth century in the ongoing edition of IPL which also represent his ninth fifty in this edition. He became the first batsman – both in IPL and in T20 games –  to score nine fifties in a T20 series.

His 113 in this game represents his highest IPL score and also T20 score. His previous best was 109 against Gujarat at Bangalore on 14.05.16

His 113 represents his fourth century in IPL and he became the second batsman to score four or more centuries in IPL.  CH Gayle is the other batsman to score four or more centuries in IPL – to be exact five centuries. What is striking is V Kohli has scored his four centuries in a single edition – the ongoing edition of 2016 !!!!

V Kohli became the first batsman in the history of IPL to amass 4000 runs in IPL. He reached the milestone when he was on 111 during his knock of 113 in this game. At the end of this game, his run aggregate read 4002. He went past SK Raina who had a total of 3985 runs on his way to occupy the first place.

V Kohli’s aggregate at the end of this game stands at 865.  He became the first batsman to score 800 plus runs in IPL edition and also his total represent the most runs scored by a batsman in an IPL edition. This total also is a T20 record in a series for a batsman and also the captain.

He shares the record for most fifties in a T20 series in the history of T20 games with JJ Roy of Surrey. V Kohli scored nine fifties {04 C + 05 HC} in the ongoing edition of 2016, while JJ Roy had scored nine fifties {00 C + 09 HC} in Natwest t20 Blast 2014

With nine fifties to his credit – V Kohli now owns the record for most fifties in a single edition of IPL. He went past CH Gayle who had scored eight fifties in IPL 2012

With 865 runs to his credit – V Kohli earned the distinction of becoming the first captain ever to total 800 plus runs in a T20 series in the history of T20 games. He now owns the record for most runs scored by a captain in a T20 series.

CH Gayle {73} and V Kohli {113] scored a fifty and a century in this game to provide the second occasion of one of the openers scoring a fifty and another a century in the history of IPL. The first such occasion was witnessed in the game between Kings Eleven Punjab and Rajasthan Royals at Mohali on 28.05.08. SE Marsh had scored 115 and JR Hopes had made 51

AB de Villers rewrote the record for most catches in a single edition of IPL. He took three catches in this game which fetched him an aggregate of 17 catches in the ongoing edition of IPL. The previous record of most catches was 14 – jointly shared by DA Miller of Punjab in 2014 and DJ Bravo of Chennai in 2013

With four centuries in the ongoing series to his credit, V Kohli  owns the record for most centuries by a captain in any T20 series in the history of T20 games. He went past M Klinger who had scored three centuries for Gloucestershire in Natwest t20 Blast 2015.

With three centuries to his credit at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, V Kohli now shares the record for most centuries on a single ground in the history of T20 games with CH Gayle, who also has scored three centuries at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.

V Kohli scored 12 boundary fours in this game which fetched him 185 boundary fours at M Chinnaswamy Stadium V Kohli now has the record for most boundary fours on a single ground in the history of T20 games. He went past P Mustard of Durham who had scored 179 boundary fours at Chester-le-Street and held the record previously in this category of statistics

CH Gayle and V Kohli added 147 runs for the first wicket in this game to provide the 150th occasion of batsmen posting a three figure partnership in IPL. It also provides the 50th occasion of batsmen posting a three figure partnership for the first wicket in IPL. A Zampa became the fourth bowler in the history of Twenty20 games to witness the six wickets captured by a bowler going in vain. His figures of 4 for 19 for Rising Pune Supergiants against Sunrisers at Vizag on 10.05.16 in the ongoing IPL could not win the game as Rising Pune Supergiants lost the game by a narrow margin of four runs. A Zampa’s bowling figures of 4.0.0-19-6 represent the best bowling figures by a bowler in losing cause in the history of Twenty20 games. The previous best was by Aftab Ahmed of Denmark against P & NG at Abu Dhabi on 20.03.12. He had returned with figures of 4.0-0-22-6.

He scored 108 not out in thie game which fetched him an aggregate of 541 runs at the end of the game. He become the only captain in the history of IPL to score 500 plus runs in three separate editions of IPL. He has an aggregate of 634 in 2013 and 505 in 2015 and 541 in 2016. He went past SR Tendulkar who has accomplished the feat in two editions. 618 in 2010 and 553 in 2011. Dinesh Karthik became the first wicket keeper in the history of Indian Premier League to effect 90 plus dismissals. At the end of the game between Delhi Daredevils and Gujarat Lions at Rajkot on 03.05.16, his aggregate of dismissals read 91.  His 91 dismissals comprised of 65 catches and 26 stumping dismissals. He owns the record for most dismissals {91}, most catches {65} and most stumping dismissals {26} in Indian Premier League. He is closely followed by MS Dhoni who has effected 85 dismissals of which 61 are catches and 24 are stumping dismissals.

Dinesh Karthik has represented five teams in IPL – Delhi Daredevils, Gujarat Lions, Kings Eleven Punjab, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

He stands third in the list of wicket keepers who have effected most dismissals in the history of Twenty20 games. He has effected 145 dismissals – 101 catches and 44 stumping dismisssals. Kamran Akmal {179 – 102 ct + 77 st} and MS Dhoni {170 – 114 ct + 56 st} are ahead of Dinesh Karthik in terms of most dismissals

He also stands third in the list of wicket keepers who have pouched 100 plus catches In the history of Twenty20 games.  He has taken 101 catches. MS Dhoni {114} and Kamran Akmal {102} are ahead of Dinesh Karthik in terms of catches taken.
