Some interesting notes on VV Kumar’s five for 64 on test debut against Pakistan in Feb 1961
VV Kumar is one of the ten Indian bowlers who have captured five or more wickets in an innings on test debut as on date. His five for 64 against Pakistan at Delhi in Feb 1961 makes him the second Indian bowler to achieve the feat. The first was M Nissar who had returned with figures of five for 83 against England in June 1932, the first ever test played by India. The interval between the feats of M Nissar and VV Kumar is 29 years 05 months and 13 days.
