He is one of the five batsmen who has scored 200 plus boundary fours in the history of Twenty20 Internationals. Other are –TM Dilshan {223}, V Kohli {218}, Mohd Shahzad {218} and MJ Guptill {200}.

RG Sharma is the second Indian batsman to score 200 plus boundary fours after V Kohli. RG Sharma occupies the third place in the list of batsmen who have scored most boundary fours in the history of T20Is. The first place is occupied by TM Dilshan who has scored 223 boundary fours while the second place is shared by V Kohli and Mohd Shahzad who have scored 218 boundary fours. RG Sharma’s 50 against New Zealand at Auckland on 08.02.19 represents his ninth fifty on away soil. He now owns the record for most fifties by a batsman on away soil in the history of Twenty20 internationals. He went past V Kohli  and Mohammad Hafeez who had scored eight fifties on away soil

RG Sharma became the highest run getter in the history of Twenty20 internationals.  His run aggregate at the end of the second T20I against New Zealand at Auckland read 2288. He went past MG Guptill of New Zealand who had an aggregate of 2272 runs and owned the record for most runs in T20Is during the course of his knock of 50 at Auckland.

RG Sharma became the first batsman in the history of Twenty20 internationals to score 20 fifties.  His 50 in this game was his 16th half century and 20th fifty.
