Pruthvi Shah made his test debut for India today at Rajkot against West Indies,  he became the 292nd cricketer to make his test debut for  India in tests. He also became the 293rd cricketer to represent  India  in tests

He opened the batting and became the 86th opening batsman to represent India in tests. He also became the 47th batsman to open the batting for India on debut.

It is just ironical that he has replaced S Dhawan who had opened the batting for India on debut in tests. S Dhawan had made his test debut against Australia at Mohali on 14 Mar 2013 with a century to his credit. He had scored 187 in his debut test.

KC Brathwaite became the 14th West Indies captain to lead against India. He also became the tenth  West Indies captain to lead against India in India.

KL Rahul was dismissed for a duck in the first innings of this test to provide the 162nd occasion of an  Indian opening batsman dismissed for a duck in tests. KL Rahul collected his fifth duck as an opener and became the eleventh Indian opening batsman to collect five or more ducks in a test innings

India won the toss in this test to provide the 264th occasion of India winning the toss in a test. It also provides the 138th occasion of India winning the toss in a home test

India won the toss in this test and elected to bat first to provide the 207th occasion of India doing so in a test. It also provides the 125th occasion of India winning the toss and electing to bat in a home test

PP Shaw and KL Rahul became the 153rd opening pair for India. They also became the 95th pair to open a test innings at home. They became the 46th opening pair for India against West Indies. They also became the 23rd pair to open a test innings at home against West Indies.

PP Shaw and KL Rahul added three runs for the first wicket to provide the tenth occasion of Indian batsman adding three and less than three runs for the first wicket against West Indies when India batted in the first innings of a test.

It also provides the first occasion of Indian opening batsmen posting exact three runs for the first wicket against West Indies when India batted in the first innings of a test

PP Shaw scored 134 against West Indies in the ongoing test at Rajkot to provide the 106th occasion of a batsman scoring a century on debut. It also provides the 36th occasion of a batsman scoring a century on debut in the first innings of a test.

PP Shaw became the third batsman in the annals of test cricket to score a century on debut in the first-class match and also on debut in a test. Others are – GR Viswanath of India and DW Welham of Australia.

PP Shaw’s 134 in this test provide the 88th occasion of an Indian batsman scoring a century against West Indies. It also provides the 45th occasion of an Indian batsman scoring a century against West Indies at home.
