SL Malinga’s 4 for 23 against Bangladesh at Dubai-DSC on 15.09.18 was in a losing cause and represents the sixth occasion of Malinga witnessing his four-wicket haul in a one day game going in vain. He now shares the record for most four-wicket hauls in losing cause in the history of one-day internationals with Saqlain Mushtaq of Pakistan. KL Rahul’s distinction – holds the record for most catches by a fieldsman in an away series

KL Rahul of India pouched 14 catches in the ongoing test series against England. He became the third fieldsman other than the wicketkeeper in the annals of test cricket to pouch 14 or more catches in a test series. The other two fieldsmen are – JM Gregory of Australia {15 catches against England in 1920-21 series} and GS Chappell of Australia {14 catches against England in 1974-75 series}. KL Rahul’s 14 catches in 2018 series against England are listed below. Thus KL Rahul shares the second place jointly with GS  Chappell for most catches by a fieldsman in a test series

KL Rahul’s 14 catches in the ongoing test series is a record for most catches by a fieldsman in an away series. The previous record was 13 catches and was credited to RB Simpson of Australia. He had pouched 13 catches against South Africa in South Africa  in 1957-58 test series.
