R Ashwin became the twelfth Indian bowler to witness the ten wicket haul in a test going in vain. He also beamce the first Indian bowler to witness a ten wicket haul in a losing cause against Sri Lanka. R Ashwin captured ten for 160 at Galle in the just concluded test between India and Sri Lanka. AM Rahane’s world record – pouches eight catches in a test

AM Rahane of India wrote himself into the record books by pouching eight catches in the ongoing test against Sri Lanka at Galle. His eight catches represent the world record for most catches by a fieldsman other than the wicket keepers. AM Rahan4 went past GS Chappell of Australia, Yajurvindra Singh of India, HP Tilakaratne of Sri Lanka, SP Fleming of New Zealand and ML Hayden of Australa who had taken seven catches in a test and shared the previous record for most catches in a test.
