Harbhajan Singh bowled a maiden over in this game providing the 26th occasion of such an instance in ICC WT20.

Harbbhajan Singh’s maiden over in this game represents the second occasion of his bowling a maiden over in ICC WT20, the first occasion being against West Indies at Lord’s on 12.06.09.

Australian batsmen scored 16 boundary sixes in its innings in this game which is a record for most sixes in an innings in ICC WT20.- SR Watson {06}, DA Warner {07}, DJ Hussey {02} and BJ Haddin {01} The previous record was 12 boundary sixes scored by West Indian batsmen against South Africa at Jo’burg on 11.09.07, which incidentally was the first ever game of the ICC T20 World Cup

SR Watson became the seventh batsman in ICC WT20 to score six or more sixes in an innings. DA Warner with seven sixes in this game took his aggregate of sixes in T20I to 30. He became the second opening batsman to score 30 plus sixes in T20I after BB McCullum of New Zealand who has scored 37 sixes.

SR Watson {06} and DA Warner {07} scored 13 sixes in this game as opening batsman which is a record for most sixes by openers in ICC WT20. The previous best was ten sixes by West Indies openers against South Africa at Jo’burg on 11.09.07 {all ten sixes scored by CH Gayle}

DA Warner completed 500 runs in T20I when he wss on six during his knock of 72 in this game and at the end of the game has an aggregate of 566 runs. He became the 15th batsman to total 500 plus runs in T20I. He earned the distinction of becoming the first Australian batsman to aggregate 500 plus runs in T20I

With two boundary fours in this game, DA Warner took his aggregate of boundary fours in T20I to 51. He became the eleventh batsman in T20I to score 50 or more boundary fours. Only other bowler in the history of T20 games to concede six sixes of consecutive deliveries is SJC Broad of England. He was hit for six sixes in an over by Yuvraj Singh at Durban on 19.09.07

DP Nannes with his three wickets in this game became the highest wicket taker in T20 games. At the end of this game his aggregate of T20 wickets stood at 94. His 94 wickets have come from 65 matches, 64 innings. He has bowled 243 overs which includes three non overs. His 94 wickets have cost him 1662 runs at an average of 17.68 runs per wicket. He wrested the record from JA Morkel of South Afirca who had a tally of 93 wickets. JA Morkel’s 93 wickets have come from 110 matches and 103 innings. He has bowled 318.5 overs of which four were non overs. His 93 wickets have cost him 2563 runs at an average of 27.55 runs per wicket. He has taken four wickets in an innings on two occasions. His best figures were 4 for 30

DP Nannes {94}, JA Morkel {93} and Yasir Arafat {90} are the three bowlers who have captured 90 plus wickets in T20 games

India were dismissed all out for 135 in this game providing the 24th occasion of a team dismissed all out in ICC WT20. It is for the first time that India was dismissed all out in ICC WT20.

RG Sharma’s 79 not out was in a losing cause providing the 24th occasion of a batsman’s fifty going in vain in ICC WT20. It also represents the third occasion of an Indian batsman’s fifty in a losing cause. The other two occasions are – G Gambhir’s 51 vs New Zealand at Jo’burg on 16.09.07 and Yuvraj Singh’s 67 vs West Indies at Lord’s on 12.06.09

RG Sharms’s 79 not out in this game represent the 13th occasion of an Indian batsman scoring a fifty in ICC WT20. It also represents the third fifty scored by RG Sharma in ICC WT20. The other two are – 50 not out vs South Africa at Durban on 20.09.07, 52 not out vs Ireland at Nottingham on 10.06.09. Thus his 79 not out in this game represents his highest score in ICC WT20
