Rahul Dravid became the first batsman in the annals of test cricket to play 100 tests while batting number three. He achieved the feat when he batted at number against Rickie Ponting led Australia on his home ground Bangalore in Oct 2008. He celebrated the occasion by scoring a half century – 51 – in the first innings and five in the second innings. As on date he has played 113 tests batting at number three.

RT Ponting is the second batsman to play 100 tests while batting at number three. He achieved the feat against Pakistan at Sydney in Jan 2010. He scored zero and 11 in this test. As on date he has played 103 test while batting at number three
