Put into bat Shamanoor Davanagere Diamonds scored 116 for 5 and held its nerves to defend the total by restricting Bangalore Provident {Rural} to 112 for 8, to win the game by four runs.

Veteran Yere Goud was at his best in this game and was the top scorer of the match. In a stay of 52 minutes he faced 31 deliveries and hit two boundaries in his score of 30. He forged partnerships of 18 runs for the second wicket with MA Agarwal, 41 runs for the third wicket in the company of SN Raju. SN Raju {23} was the next best scorer in Davanagere team.

A Katti {2 for 18}, A Jagan {2 for 22}, NC Aiyappa {27} and DH Sunil Kumar {1 for 27} shared the wickets that fell in Davanagere team.

Bangalore Provident were at a comfortable stage with the score board reading 95 for 5 in 17,1 overs. They needed 22 runs from 19 deliveries for a win. It lost four more wickets in 19 deliveries and scored 112 and fell five runs short of the target

SN Raju was particularly impressive with leather also and captured 2 for 12 in his four overs. P Magizhendan was most economical bowler conceding nine runs in his three overs.

VST Naidu {25}, Amit Verma {20} and MD Sarfaraz Ashraf {16} were the three batsmen to reach double figures of the ten batsmen who batted. Bangalore Provident batsmen could not handle the pressure and lost the game
