Shivnarine Chanderpaul became the tenth batsman to reach the milestone of 10000 runs in test cricket. He reached the milestone when he was on 14 during his second innings knock of 69 in the final test against Australia at Rouseu. At the end of his innings, his run aggregate stood at 10055.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul is the second West Indian batsman to score 10000 runs in test cricket after Brian Lara. Lara has an aggregate of 11953 runs. The following table lists out all the cricketers who have scored 10000 runs in tests

RT Ponting moved to the second place amongst the top run getters in test cricket. His run aggregate stood at 13346 at the end of the third test against West Indies at Rouseau. He went past R Dravid who has an aggregate of 13288 at the end of the first innings of this test when he was dismissed for 23. He scored 57 in the second innings to take his aggregate to 13346.

RT Ponting also moved to second place in terms of match appearance. Rouseu test was his 165^th test appearance. He went past R Draivd’s 164 test appearance
