Captains scoring 150 plus runs in one day internationals – SPD Smith joins the elite list

SPD Smith of Australia scored 164 run against New Zealand at Sydney on 04.12.16 to provide the 14th occasion of a captain scoring 150 plus runs in the history of one day internationals. All such occasions are listed below. V Sehwag of India is the only captain to score 200 plus runs in the history of one day internationals. He has scored 219 against West Indies at Indore on 08.12.11

SPD Smith and  RT Ponting share the record for most runs by an Australian captain in one day games – both have scored an identical 164 runs. RT Ponting had scored 164 runs against South Africa at Johannesburg on 12.03.06

SPD Smith became the second captain to score 150 plus runs at Sydney. AB de Villiers of South Africa is the other captain. He had made 162 not out against West Indies on 27.02.15. Thus SPD Smith holds the record for most runs by a captain in a one day game at Sydney
