It has been widely believed by Indian Statistician fraternity and also world over that the only Ranji Trophy match that was completed in one day was the inaugural Ranji Trophy Match between Madras and Mysore played at Madras-Chepauk on 04.11.1934

As I was browsing through the Record Section of Association of Cricket Statisticians, I  found another  Ranji Trophy was completed in one day. It was the game between Saurashtra and Baroda played at Municipal Stadium, Rajkot on 05.12.1959

In this game, Baroda had won the toss and inserted the opposition.  Saurashtra was dismissed for 252 in its first innings. Baroda was batting with the score reading 24 for 2 and Saurashtra conceded the match following the death of Maharajshree Duleep Singh. Many of the players were related to him.

Baroda was led by DK Gaekwad.  Other cricketers who later or earlier shone for the national team are CG Borde. RH Shodhan, G Kishenchand. JM Ghorpade and JW Ghorpade
