New Zealand’s total of 347 for 4 against USA at The Oval on 10.09.84 represent the highest team total in the tournament, while USA’s 65 against Australia at Southampton on 13.09.84 represent the lowest team total in a completed innings in the tournament.
New Zealand’s win by 210 runs against USA at The Oval on 10.09.14 provides the largest margin of victory by runs, while there is only occasion of a team winning a game without losing a wicket {ten wickets win}. West Indies beat Bangladesh at Jaipur on 11.10.06 by ten wickets. Australia beat USA at Southampton on 13.09.04 by nine wickets with 253 balls to spare to provide the largest margin of victory by balls to spare in the second innings.
India’s five runs victory against England at Birmingham on 22.06.13 provides the smallest margin of victory by runs, while there is only one occasion of a team winning a game by one wicket margin. New Zealand went past Sri Lanka at Cardiff by one wicket on 09.06.13. There are three occasions of a team winning a game on the last ball of the match – New Zealand beat Zimbabwe at Dhaka on 24.10.98 by two wickets, South Africa best West Indies by two wickets at Col-SSC on 13.09.02 and Australia beat Pakistan at Centurion on 30.09.09.
Kenya conceded 42 extras against India at Southampton on 11.09.04 to provide the occasion of a team conceding most extras in the tournament. It also provides the lone instance of a team conceding 40 plus extras in the entire Champions Trophy.

CH Gayle of West Indies owns the record for most runs in the tournament. He has an aggregate of 791 runs from 17 matches, 17 innings. He has remained not out on two occasions. Has 133 not out as his highest score. He has an average of 52.73 runs per innings. He has scored three centuries and one half century. CH Gayle also owns the record for scoring most boundary fours in the tournament. He has scored 101 boundary fours and is the only batsman to score 100 plus boundary fours in the tournament.
CH Gayle of West Indies {791} and DPMD Jayawardene {742} are the only two batsmen who have aggregated 700 plus runs in the tournament.
SC Ganguly of India, CH Gayle of West Indies and HH Gibbs of South Africa share the record for scoring most centuries in the tournament. They have scored three centuries each
SC Ganguly of India has scored most boundary sixes in the tournament – seventeen boundary sixes. He is followed by CH Gayle who has scored 15 boundary sixes.
R Dravid and SC Ganguly of India share the record for scoring most fifties in the tournament. Both have scored six fifties
As many as 40 centuries have been scored by batsmen in the tournament. New Zealander NJ Astle’s 145 not out against USA at The Oval on 10.09.04 represent the highest score by a batsman in the tournament. It is interesting to note that no batsman have scored 150 plus runs in the tournament.
SC Ganguly of India with 581 runs to his credit owns the record for most runs by a captain. His 58 boundary fours and 15 boundary sixes are also the record in its category by a captain in the tournament. RT Ponting is the other captain to total 500 plus runs – 506 to be exact – in the tournament.
SC Ganguly of India and RT Ponting of Australia share the record for scoring most fifties by a captain in the tournament. Both have scored five fifties.
SC Ganguly’s 141 not out against South Africa at Nairobi {Gym} on 13.10.00 represent the highest score by a captain in the tournament. There are seven centuries scored by captains in the tournament.
KC Sangakkara of Sri Lanka with an aggregate of 662 runs has the record for most runs by a wicket keeper batsman in the tournament. He also holds the record for most fifties – five – and owns the record for most boundary fours by a wicket keeper batsman – 66 – in the tournament. KC Sangakkara is the only wicket keeper batsman to score 600 plus runs in the tournament
A Flower’s 145 against India at Col-RPS on 14.09.02 provide the highest score by a wicket keeper batsman in the tournament. There are two centuries scored by wicket keeper batsman in the tournament.

The tournament has witnessed 50 captains leading their teams in the tournament during its seven editions. RT Ponting of Australia has led in most games {16}. BC Lara of West Indies {15}, SP Fleming {13} and SC Ganguly of India {11} are the other three captains who have led their teams in ten or more games
