KA Maharaj of South Africa captured nine  wickets  conceding 129 runs against Sri Lanka in the ongoing test at Col-SSC to  provide the second South African bowler capturing nine wickets in a test innings in the annals of test cricket.HJ Tayfield was the other bowler to  perform such a feat. He had captured nine for 113 against England at  Johannesburg in Fev 1957. Thus it took 61 years for KA Maharaj to emulate HJ Tayfield to become the second South African bowler to capture nine wickets in a test innings.
