Double centuries by debutants in the fourth innings of a test
KR Mayers of West Indies scored 210 not on his test debut against Bangladesh at Chattogram in the just concluded test and earned the distinction of becoming the sixth batsman in the annals of test cricket to score a double century on test debut.
He became the second West Indies batsman to perform such a feat after LG Rowe. LG Rowe had scored 214 against New Zealand at Kingston in Feb 1972.
KR Mayers became the first batsman in the annals of test cricket to score a double century on test debut in the fourth innings of a test.
