JE Root of England became the tenth batsman to score 200 plus runs in a test innings at Chepauk when he scored 218 in the ongoing test against India The first ever double century at Chepauk was scored by Gundappa Viswanath who scored the test cricket’s first ever “Double Nelson” – 222 against England in Jan 1982.
