V Kohli was dismissed for a duck in this game to provide the 26th occasion of a captain batting at number three scoring a duck in the history of T20Is. It also provides the second occasion of a captain batting at number three scoring a duck in the history of T20Is against England. DPMD Jayawardene of Sri Lanka is the other captain batting at number three to score a duck against England in T20Is. He failed to open his account at Southampton on 15 Jun 2006. He collected the first ball duck in this game.

It also provides the second occasion of an Indian captain batting at number three scoring a duck in T20Is. On both occasions, it was V Kohli. Prior to his duck in this game, he had failed to open the account against Australia at Guwahathi on 10.10.17

YS Chahal has captured ten wickets against England in T20Is at the end of this game. He became the ninth bowler to capture ten or more wickets against England in T20Is. He also became India’s highest wicket taker against England with his ten wickets aggregate.

CJ Jordan’s lone wicket, that of Shreyas Iyer’s, gave him an aggregate of 67 wickets in T20Is. He is now the leading wicket taker for England in T20Is.

AU Rashid’s lone wicket in this game fetched him an aggregate of 52 wickets in T20IS. He now stands third in the list of most wicket takers from England. CJ Jordan {67} and SCJ Broad {65} have captured more wickets than AU Rashid. AU Rashid went past GP Swann {51} to occupy the third place.

AU Rashid became the third England bowler to bowl in 50 innings. Others are SCJ Broad and CJ Jordan who have bowled in 55 innings each.

CJ Jordan was playing his 56th T20I game. He now shares the record for most T20I games played by an England bowler with SCJ Broad. He is also one of the three England bowlers who have played 50 plus T20I games. The three bowlers are – CJ Jordan {56}, SCJ Broad {56} and AU Rashid {53}.

England won this game by eight wickets to post its 65th win in T20Is. It also represents its eighth win against India. It also represents its largest win by wickets margin.

India lost this game by eight wickets to provide its 46th loss in T20Is. It also provides its third loss by eight wickets in T20Is. Prior to this loss, it has lost by eight wickets against Australia at Guwahati on 10.10.17 and against West Indies at Trivandrum on 08.12.19
