SM Gavaskar of India – the owner of many records in the history of cricket, also owns a dubious record not known to many. He has been dismissed for a first ball ducj while opening the innings at number one position on five occasions. He remains the only opening batsman batting at number one to be dismissed for a first ball duck in an innings on five occasions in the annals of test cricket

He now holds the record for most dismissals by an Indian wicket keeper against Australia in Australia He went past MS Dhoni who had effected 35 dismissals against Australia in Australia.

M Labuschagne had an aggregate of 894 runs in day-night tests prior to the start of this test. He needs six more runs which would fetch him 900 runs. He scored 64 runs in Australia’s first innings which fetched him 958 runs. He became the first batsman to score 950 plus runs in day-night tests.

M Labuschange had scored 93 boundary fours in day-night tests prior to the start of this test. He needed seven boundary fours for 100 boundary fours.
