Put into bat, Hubli Tigers posted a total of 188 for 7 in its knock. Its innings was built around a fine 118 runs partnership between Mohd Taha and AM Reddy for the first wicket. After the fall of first wicket, S Aravind came in at number three in the form of a pinch hitter. The idea misfired as he left without scoring. Wickets fell regularly and the team lost is momentum. Skipper KR Kapoor batted at number eight was baffling. It was a procession of batsman walking back to the pavilion and the opener Mohd Taha was a mute spectator to the parade. Mohd Taha scored 89 with the help of five boundary fours and seven boundary sixes.
