Three wicketkeepers in a test playing eleven
England fielded three wicket keepers – JM Bairstow, JC Buttler and BT Foakes – in the playing Eleven against West Indies in its two tests at Bridgetown and Northsound. The last named kept the wickets while the other two were used as a specialist batsman. JM Bairstow and JC Buttler had donned the gloves for England earlier.
Sri C Prahlada Rao, my former boss at Dena Bank and a cricket buff, queried me whether this a record of sorts. I queried Sri S Rajesh and Sri Sajan of espncricinfo.com and was told that this poser cannot be queried as the score cards show the name of one wicket keeper who kept the wickets in that innings.
