Batsmen dismissed hit wicket after scoring a three figure innings in a test innings

Batsmen dismissed hit wicket after scoring a three figure innings in a test innings

Test cricket has witnessed only two batsmen – WH Ponsford and SFAF Bacchus – dismissed hit wicket after  scoring 250 plus runs.  WH Ponsford  of Australia was  dismissed hit wicket against England at The Oval  in August 1934 after  scoring 266 runs  while SFAF Bacchus of West Indies  was dismissed hit wicket against India at Kanpur in Feb 1979.

There are twelve occasion s of batsmen dismissed hit wicket after scoring a century – scores between 100 and 199 – and are listed below. VVS  Laxman is the  only Indian batsman  in this  twelve batsmen list. He  is the only batsman to be dismissed hit wicket in  a test innings with a three figure  innings to his  credit against West  Indies

Only three batsmen – WA Hadlee of New Zealand, CG Borde of India and RW Marsh of Australia – have been dismissed  hit wicket  in nineties. RW Marsh remains the only wicket keeper batsman to be dismissed hit wicket in a test innings  in nineties.
