A Shafique {136 not out} and Imam-ul-Haq {111 not out} of Pakistan scored centuries against Australia in the just concluded test at Rawalpindi to provide the 78^th occasion of both the openers scoring centuries in the same innings in the annals of test cricket. Chappell brothers – Greg and Ian – scored centuries in both innings of test to remain the only pair of brothers performing such a feat in the annals of test cricket

Rival batsmen – AP Gurusinha of Sri Lanka and AH Jones of New Zealand – scored centuries in both innings of a test to provide the only occasion of rival batsmen performing such a feat in the annals of test cricket. AP Gurusinha scored 119 and 102 while AH Jones scored 122 and 100 not out at Hamilton in February 1991

DA Warner, SM Gavaskar and RT Ponting are the three batsmen in the annals of test cricket to score centuries in both innings on three occasions

RT Ponting of Australia is the only batsman and also captain to score centuries in both innings of a test in his 100^th test. He scored 120 and 143 not out against South Africa at Sydney in January 2006

SM Gavaskar is the only batsman to score twin centuries of which one is 200 plus score in second innings. He scored 124 and 220 against West Indies at Trinidad in April 1971.

A Flower of Zimbabwe is the only wicket keeper batsman to score centuries in both innings of a test. He scored 142 and 199 not out against South Africa at

Harare in September 2001.

DA Warner of Australia is the only left hand batsman and also the left hand opening batsman to score centuries in both innings of a test on three occasions.

ML Hayden of Australia is the only left hand batsman in the annals of test cricket to aggregate 300 runs while scoring centuries in both innings of a test. He scored 197 and 103 against England at Brisbane in November 2002.
