FDM Karunaratne becomes the second batsman to aggregate 1000 plus runs in the Calendar year 2017

FDM Karunaratne had an aggregate of 949 runs in 2017 prior to the start of the Nagpur test against India in  the ongoing test series and required 51 more runs for his 1000 runs. India and England shared the record for most centuries against Sri Lanka at home prior to the start of the just concluded Kolkata test. Both teams had scored 27 centuries. V Kohli’s 104 not out in this test gave India its 28th century and with it the record of scoring most centuries against Sri Lanka at home.
