J Suchith became the second bowler in KPL to capture five wickets in KPL after DN Sagar of Brigadiers. DN Sagar had figures of 5 for 17 against Mysore Maharaajas at Mysore on 18.09.09

MRKPL-05 – Mangalore United vs Mysuru Warriors at Hubli on 04.09.15 – Mangalore United won by 39 runs

Mangalore United was benefited largely by the poor fielding of Mysuru Warriors. As many as six catches were spilled. Mangalore United posted its second highest total in KPL – 191 for 4. KK Nair {67}, SA Bhavane {40} and NP Bhareth {46 not out} were the principal scorers for Mangalore United. KK Nair rode on luck {he was dropped twice} to score 67 runs. His runs came in 51 deliviers and contained ten boundary fours. He now holds the record for most boundary fours scored by a batsman in KPL – 58.

Manglore United score was built around two fifty plus runs partnerships – 56 runs for the first wicket between RP Kadam and KK Nair and 54 runs for the second wicket between KK Nair and SA Bhavane. MG Naveen was the most successful bowler for Mysuru Warriors with a bag of 2 for 19.

Mysuru Warriors began its chase strognly. Though they lost its first wicket – that of skipper MK Pandy – at seven, a strong second wicket partnership ensured between K Arjun Hoysala and MV Manjesh Reddy. They added 82 runs for the second wicket. The latter was injured and retired hurt not out. This aberration caused the Mysuru Warriors to lose wickets regularly. It lost three wickets before MV Manjesh Reddy came to bat again. It lost its second wicket at 106, third at 124, fourth at 126 and fiftk at 137. While the wickets fell regulary,opening batsman K Arjun Hoysala stood like a rock. Two more wickets fell at the score of 137. K Arjun Hoysala was run out for 87 and K Gowtham was dismissed next ball for a duck. K Arjun Hoysala batted beautilly and kept the score card ticking. His 87 contained ten boundary fours and two boundary sixes. With the exit of K Arjuan Hoysala, Mysuru Warriors hopes were doomed and they were dismissed finally for 152 and thus lost the chase by 39 runs. Mitrakanth Yadav was the most succesful bowler – wrecker-in-chief – with a bag of four for 29

MRKPL-M06 –Belgavi Panthers vs Rockstars at Hubli on 05.09.15 – Match abandoned due to rain interference and was declared as a No result match

Belgavi Panthers won the toss and opted to bat first. The game was abandoned due to rain interference when Belagavi Panthers had scored 123 for the loss of one wicket in 14.0 overs. This is the third no result game in the tournament.

MA Agarwal scored 44 in this game to take his KPL run aggregate to 621. He became the second batsman to score 600 plus runs in the tournament. B Chipli has an aggregate of 600 runs. Thus MA Agarwal holds the record for most runs in the tournament. R Jonathan who made 13 not out in this game competed 600 runs to become the third batsman in the tournament. R Jonathan’s run aggregate stood at exact 600 runs at the end of this game

Belgavi Panthers owed its score to A Reddy who made 60 not out and MA Agarwal who made 44.

The points were shared between the teams and Rockstars earned one point from this game. This was their first points in the tournament. It had lost its previous seven games in the tournament

MRKPL-M07-Hubli Tigers vs Bijapur Bulls at Hubli on 06.09.15 – Bijapur Bulls won by seven wickets

Hubli Tigers – put into bat – posted a none-too-comfortable total of 152 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs. KB Pawan with 73 was the batting mainstay for Hubli Tigers. It was his highest score and also his third fifty in KPL. KP Appanna and KC Cariappa – Coorg duo – captured two wickets each for Bijapur Bulls.

Bijapur Bulls chased the target very comfortably for the loss of three wickets and with three overs to spare. RV Uthappa was in his elements while compiling 73 not out and led his team to a comfortable seven wickets win. SL Akshay conceded 45 runs without wicket and was the most expesive bowler for Hubli Tigers. RV Uthappa’s 73 not out contained five boundary four and four boudary sixes. Earlier he had shone behind the stumps be effecting two stumping dismissals

His 73 not out in this game represents his third fifty of the tournament and also rrpesents his highest score in KPL. His previous best was 69 not out for Brigadiers against Shamanoor Diamonds at Bangalore on 21.09.09. SL Akshay became the eighth bowler to concede 40 plus runs without capturing a wicket in KPL

MRKPL-M08 – Bellary Tuskers vs Namma Shimogga at Hubli on 06.09.15 – Namma Shivamogga won by five wickets

Put into bat – Bellary Tuskers scored 159 for 6 in 20.0 overs. Useful contributions from skipper DT Patil {34}, AA Joshi {34} and SP Manjunath {36 not out} ensured Bellary Tuskers to reach a modest total. SP Manjunath and CA Karthik were concerned in a record seventh wicket partnership in KPL. The pair realised 63 runs in an unfinished stand. Bellary Tuskers were tottering at 96 for 6 at one stage and SP Manjunath and CA Karthik restored something of a semblace to their team total. V Venkatesh, B Gulecha and SA Khader shared the spoils with two wickets apiece.

Namma Shimogga started the chase comforatably and were 79 for 3 at one stage. The three wickets that fell included STR Binny. S Gopal left at 94 for 4. The score card read 103 for 5 as the opener M Ramesh who witnessed the fall of four wickets also departed. The game became tense as the runs required were more and the balls remained were less. But A Sager and V Siddarth were not deterred by the position and saw thier team to a thrilling win by adding 57 runs in an unfinished stand for the sixth wicket. AB Sagar scored a hurricane 35 not out in just 19 balls with one boundary and two sixes. Namma Shimogga won the game with three balls to spare. Amit Verme, with his 2 for 29, was the most succesful bowler for the losers
