V Kohli occupies the third place in the list of captains who have scored most centuries in the annals of test cricket

V Kohli’s 103 against England at Nottingham in the recently concluded test provides his 16th century while leading India. He now stands third in the list of captains who have scored most centuries in the annals of test cricket.  GC Smith with 25 centuries and RT Ponting with 19 centuries are the other two captains who have scored more centuries than V Kohli while leading their teams. V Kohli’s 16 centuries are listed below. He went past AR Border and SPD Smith who have scored 15 centuries on his way to the third place.

V Kohli became the first captain in the annals of test cricket to score 200 plus runs in a test on ten occasions in the annals of test cricket when he totaled 200 runs in the just concluded test against England at Nottingham. He scored 97 and 103 in this test. BC Lara and RT Ponting are the other two captains who have scored 200 plus runs in a test on seven occasions. His effort was in losing cause to provide the 79th occasion of a batsman’s fourth innings test century in a losing cause in the annals of test cricket.
