Virat Kohli eyes two more records in Twenty20 games

Virat Kohli eyes two more records in Twenty20 games

V Kohli is in sight of two more landmarks in the history in the history of T20 games. He has scored 1490 runs in the calendar year 2016 as on date and prior to the start of the game between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils at Raipur on 22.05.16.  Ten more runs would fetch him 1500 runs and with it the distinction of becoming the second batsman to total 1500 plus runs in a calendar year in the history of Twenty20 games. His feat would provide the third such occasion. CH Gayle has scored 1665 in 2015 and 1532 in 2012

Another distinction he is eyeing is the most number of fifties in a calendar in T20 games. As on date V Kohli and CH Gayle share this record. CH Gayle has to his credit 16 fifties in 2012, while V Kohli has also scored similar number of fifties in the ongoing edition of IPL.

One more fifty to him would fetch him his 17th fifty in 2016 and he would own the record of most fifties in a calendar year in the history of T20 games. He would go past CH Gayle who has scored 16 fifties in the calendar year 2012. The following table lists the performance of CH Gayle and V Kohli as on date

Player Year Mat Inns NO Runs HS Ave C HC 50+ 0 4s 6s

CH Gayle is on the threshold of creating three new records in T20 games

CH Gayle is on the threshold of creating three new records in T20 games

He needs 20 more runs for 9000 runs in Twenty20 games. He has an aggregate of 8980 runs. If he gets 20 more runs, he would then become the first batsman ever in the history of Twenty20 games to total 9000 runs.

Another record he is eyeing in T20 games is most boundary fours. He has scored 695 boundary fours and require five more which would fetch him 700 boundary fours. If he gets them, he would then become the first batsmen ever to score 700 boundary fours in the history of Twenty20 games.

He has already scored 650 boundary sixes in T20 games. If he gets 700 boundary fours, he would then become the only batsman in the history of T20 games to score 700 boundary fours and 650 boundary sixes. His T20 record as on date and prior to the  start of the next game of IPL between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils at Raipur on 22.05.16 read thus
