10th Match, First Round Group B: Hong Kong v Scotland at Nagpur – Mar 12, 2016 – Hong Kong 127/7 (20/20 ov); Scotland 78/2 (8/10 ov, target: 76) – Scotland won by 8 wickets (with 12 balls remaining) (D/L method)

GT Main became the first bowler in WT20 to capture a wicket off the first ball he bowled on his WT20 debut. He bowled only one over in this game to return with figures of 1.0-0-13-1. He claimed the wicket of RJ Campbell whom he bowled for a duck.

Tanwir Afzal was dismissed for a duck in this game to provide the 16th occasion of a captain dismissed for a duck in WT20. He was dismissed run out for a duck to provide the third occasion of a captain dismissed run out for a duck in WT20. Other two captains are – DL Vettori of New Zealand against Pakistan at Cape Town on 22.09.07 and Shahid Afridi of Pakistan against England at Bridgetown on 06.05.10.

A Rath was dismissed stumped in this game to provide the 89th occasion of a batsman dismissed stumped in WT20 and also the third occasion for Hong Kong batsmen. Others are – Waqas Barkat vs Bangladesh at Chittagong on 20.03.14 and Nizakat Khan vs Afghanistan at Nagpur on 10.03.16

This was the first six over game in all the editions of WT20. Netherlands won by 12 runs.

TLW Cooper failed to open his account to provide the 68th occasion of an opening batsman scoring a duck in WT20 and the fourth such occasion by Netherlands batsmen in WT20.

Asghar Stanikzai of Afghanistan scored a duck in this game to provide the 15th occasion of a captain scoring a duck in WT20. It also provides the first such occasion by an Afghanistan captain in WT20

Samiullah Shenwari and Mohammad Nabi added 98 runs for the fifth wicket in this game to provide the second best partnership for the fifth wicket in WT20. The best stand was the 119 runs unfinished partnership between Misbah-ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik in the game between Pakistan and Australia at Johannesburg on 18.09.07

Mohammad Nabi’s four for 20 in this game represent the first occasion of an Afghanistan bowler capturing four or more wickets in WT20 and thus it represents the best bowling figures by an Afghanistan bowler in WT20. The previous best was 3 for 21 by Hamid Hasan against South Africa at Bridgetown on 05.05.10

Mohammad Nabi’s four for 20 in this game provides the 40th occasion of a bowler capturing four or more wikcets in WT20 and also provide the 35th occasion of a bowler capturing exact four wickets in WT20

Mohammad Shehzad completed 1200 runs while keeping wickets for Afghanistan in T20Is. He reached the milestone when he was on 18 during the course of his knock of 41. At the end of this game his run aggregate in T20Is read 1229. He became the third wicket keeper batsman in the history of T20Is to total 1200 plus runs. The other two are – KC Sangakkara {1382} and BB McCullum {1352}.

Mohammad Shehzad’s boundary fours aggregate at the end of this game read 125. He now stands second in the list of wicket keepers who have scored most boundary fours in W20. KC Sangakkara occupies the first place with 139 boundary fours. Mohammad Shehzad went past BB McCullum who had an aggregate of 124 boundary fours on his way to second place.

Mohammad Shehzad’s boundary sixes aggregate at the end of this game read 48 in T20Is. He needs two more boundary sixes which would fetch him 50 boundary sixes. If he gets them, he would then become the second wicket keeper batsman to score 50 plus boundary sixes in T20Is after BB McCullum. BB McCullum has scored 58 boundary fours.

Nizakath Ali Khan was dismissed stumped in this game to provide the 86th occasion of a batsman dismissed stumped in WT20 and the second such occasion for Hong Kong batsman. Waqas Barkat was dismissed stumped against Bangladesh at Chittagong on 20.03.14

The first such occasion was H Masakadza himself. He was run out for 20 against Hong Kong at Nagpur on 08.03.16. He became the third captain to be dismissed run out on two or more occasions in WT20. Others are – MS Dhoni and DL Vettori who have been dismissed run out on five occasions.

H Masakadza’s run out in this game provides the fifth occasion of a captain opening batsman dismissed run out in WT20. He is the only captain opening batsman to dismissed run out on two occasions in WT20. His dismissal also provides the 39th occasion of an opening batsman dismissed run out in WT20 and also provides the fourth such occasion for a Zimbabwe opening batsman. It is interesting to note that on all the four occasions, it was H Masakadza.

H Masakadza with four run outs to his credit, now owns the record for most run outs of an opening batsman in WT20. TM Dilshan of Sri Lanka and Tamim Iqbal of Bangladesh are the two opening batsmen who have been dismissed run out on three occasions. H Masakadza occupies the second place in the list of batsmen who have been dismissed run out on most occasions in WT20. MS Dhoni and DL Vettori who have been dismissed run out on five occasions occupy the joint first place.

H Masakadza’s run out in this game represent his seventh run out dismissal in T20I. Other batsmen to be dismissed run out on seven occasions in the history of T20I are – Mushfiqur Rahim of Bangladesh, Samiullah Shenwari of Afghanistan, Umar Akmal of Pakistan and KS Williamson of New Zealand.
